Carlsbad Real Estate
Carlsbad is the city on the North San Diego County coast that has it all. The city
has a slogan, "Live - work - play - enjoy!", which just about sums it up.
Unlike some of the neighboring bedroom communities, Carlsbad has large industrial campuses where
many residents work without having to commute. It has beautiful beaches,
a regional mall, Legoland, and many fine resorts. Other than the city of San Diego, Carlsbad has more
income from tourism than any other city in the county. You really can live, work, and play here. Imagine
going on vacation to a fantastic beach resort, and then never leaving. Why not?
This is the only beach area in San Diego county where most of the developments are new.
Everything has a clean, manicured feeling. Unlike cities further south which were built up in the
1970s and 1980s, Carlsbad was mostly built in the 1990s and 2000s. Many new housing tracts are
still being built, with most homes priced at $700,000 and up.
Carlsbad was rated by Fortune magazine as one of the finest places in
the U.S. to retire thanks to its clean air, mild climate, low crime, reasonable prices,
nearness to services, and an abundance of recreational activities.
Downtown Carlsbad is a quaint village with tourist shops and patio cafes.
Inland is La Costa, site of world championship golf and tennis competition.
The Aviara development boasts a world class golf course and the Four
Seasons resort, the only five star resort in the county.
There are a variety of restaurants in town, in all price ranges. In fact, most of the
fine dining in North County is located in Carlsbad, thanks to the upscale tourist industry.
Carlsbad is North San Diego County's recreational hub. Here's a sampling of the many events
held in Carlsbad:
January - Carlsbad Marathon and Half Marathon
March - Carlsbad 5000, the world's fastest 5K race
April - Flower Fields open
May and November - Carlsbad Street Fair, the largest one day fair in California
June to August - Free TGIF Jazz in the Parks concert series
July - Carlsbad Triathlon
September - Taste of Carlsbad, where you can sample our local restaurants
